May 15, 2010: Saturday
Today I let myself have a laid back day - sleep, coffee shop, internet, rest, writing, sketching, then WIEF office in the evening.
. . .
Aliou did a sketch of me. I title it "Nerdia" ;)

. . .
Part of the Marketplace will be the painting of a dome structure, constructed of panels covered in primed canvas. Workshops (interviews) and the panel discussion will be held inside the Dome, which will then be projected onto a big screen beyond the stage outside. On the canvas of the Dome the artists will paint a mural on their reflections of being in Malaysia so far. And part of the Dome will be for basically everyone else to leave their mark.
I've been working on a few sketches of ideas. As I've mentioned to a few people here now, Malaysia to me has been like a cup of iced lemon tea - hot on the bottom, cold on top, gradually blended in the middle - all these extremes brought into one place.
And then I think of my love for architectural structures, and the places of worship I visited in Penang . . .
