The new face of the Al-Fatih Academy draws upon the roots of its history: embracing the memory of Ms. Harding's home as the foundation of the school's beginning, and serving as a testament to its continued growth and success.
The school is divided into two "houses" by a courtyard. The courtyard brings sunlight deep into the building and provides views and fresh air to the students throughout the day.
The sustainable aspects of the school help children learn that they can make a difference by giving them hands-on experience and allowing them to make connections between the Quran and the world in which they live. (Some of the sustainable aspects include the following: The majority of the classrooms face south and receive the most sunlight. Awnings provide shade for the hottest times of day. Cisterns capture and reuse rainwater for student gardens.)
